One of the questions we received in February was: “How do I use the Dear God Letter for making strategic plans and being able to follow through with them?”

Answer: This question is very similar to one we answered in the January 2012 newsletter – you can see that response, which is about Strategic Goal Deployment™, at http://deargodletter.com/blog/?p=565. If your issue is with follow-through, then another resource is the book, Act Now! A Daily Action Log for Achieving Your Goals in 90 Days. You can find out about this at www.DailyActionLog.com. As for a Dear God Letter, remember to be specific about your request. So, you could ask for clarity about what your strategic plans ought to be, or you could ask for the fortitude to follow your plans through to completion.

One of the questions we received in February was this: “Can I use the Dear God Letter to attract health to my loved ones?”

Answer: It is possible, if you and your loved one both believe in the possibility and both take actions like writing a Dear God Letter. There is a great book called Shortcut to a Miracle: How to Change Your Consciousness and Transform Your Life by Michael C. Rann and Elizabeth Rann Arrott that has examples of people holding intentions to improve the health of their loved ones that you might look at, too.

The best thing, though, is for you to have clarity about what YOU want to experience, independent of your loved one’s condition. For example, ask for help to be loving and supportive, or to be at peace with your loved one’s health. Practice “high intention/low attachment” which means that you recognize that this is something you really want, but you are not too attached to it. This relieves the pressure and sense of urgency and allows for things to happen in a positive way without your thinking about it all the time.

Have you ever had a friend that luck seemed to always follow? They were in the right place at the right time for a promotion. They found the most wonderful spouse/partner. They got the best deal on an amazing car. Is it really luck? In term of the Law of Attraction this would be an example of the universe working its “magic.” If you believe in the Law of Attraction then you will eventually turn out to be the “lucky” one. I have heard that “if you surround yourself with positive people, than positive things will happen.” I truly believe this. You will have a better outlook on life and will be able to accomplish more.

It’s time to change your luck today!!

A friend once said,” If someone wants to love you, let them. You can never have enough love!” This was told to me at a time when I was unsure of letting someone into my life. Since then, my friend has passed on but his advice will be with me forever. I decided to let this person into my life, and it has been wonderful ever since. If you have ever questioned letting someone into your life who has an unconditional love for you, I suggest you let them in and see where the “road” may take you. You will be surprised how much you have been missing and how this love makes you feel more complete.

“How can I get help developing and sticking to strategic objectives?”

This was one of the questions we answered in our January 2012 issue of the Dear God Letter newsletter. Here’s our answer:

We love this question because our consulting company, Win Enterprises LLC helps business leaders achieve and sustain transformational results, and strategic objectives and Strategic Goal Deployment™ is part of what we do. With respect to the Dear God Letter, writing the letter helps you to become clear with what you want to achieve, essentially your strategic objectives. If you’re not clear yet what they are, you could write a letter asking for help to become clear about what your strategic objectives ought to be. If you are clear what they are, you can write a specific letter for each of the strategic objectives.

It is that time of year for many of us to set our New Year Resolutions. The Dear God Letter Team prefers to call these resolutions GOALS. A goal can be something as small as drinking more water in 2012 or as large as increasing my revenue to 1 million dollars. You may be wondering where to begin? The Dear God Letter Workbook is a great way to get started in achieving these goals. I would recommend writing “overall happiness” for your next letter. What are some things in 2012 that will make you happier? We would love to hear what they are?

A few years ago, a friend invited our family to ring the Salvation Army bell in front of our local grocery store on Christmas Eve. Of course we agreed to do it, and it proved to be the beginning a new family tradition. My daughters each bring a friend and we sing carols and generally enjoy spending an hour enjoying the season. I am so thankful that our friend invited us to participate and even more thankful that we all enjoy the time together. We all look forward to “ringing the bell” and wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!

What Christmas traditions do you look forward to every year? Merry Christmas!

I was thinking about habits and how usually we consider them “bad,” but I saw the following quote by Jim Ryun: “Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going” and decided that habits can be a good thing. If we let things like exercise, expressing appreciation, eating right, and other beneficial activities become habits, we have created an easy way to improve ourselves. And when these good things become habits, and we don’t have to think about them anymore, we might find time to work on creating more beneficial habits. Imagine if all our habits were good for us and everyone around us!

Have you ever noticed how the simple act of smiling can make you feel better? I have often realized that when I’m in my worst funks, I usually feel a little bit better if I get around other people. I feel compelled to smile and be polite and end up being a little less grumpy. Sometimes it’s better if you’re around people who aren’t your friends, because you might feel at liberty to complain to someone you know. Go ahead – give it a try! Share a smile with someone today! And remember, you might be cheering them up at the same time!

Success comes in cans, not cant’s. ~Author Unknown

Whenever you catch yourself saying, “I can’t (fill in the blank)…” stop and think about it. Is it something you are simply choosing not to do because you are unwilling to do whatever is necessary? If so, that’s ok, but accept the responsibility of making the choice. If it’s something that you really would like to do, but currently don’t have the necessary resources, try re-phrasing it by saying something like, “I currently struggle with…” and then get out there and do whatever it takes to make it an “I can…” statement. Writing a Dear God Letter is a great place to start!
